Jungfraujoch, Top of Europe, Switzerland

Jungfraujoch.Top of Europe, Switzerland (September).

 The Jungfraujoch is a col or saddle between the Mönch and the Jungfrau in the Bernese Alps on the boundary between the cantons of Bern and Valais, inside the Jungfrau-Aletsch Protected Area.  houses one of the Global Atmosphere Watch's atmospheric research stations. The Jungfraujoch can only be reached through a 7.3 km long cog railway tunnel, served by the Jungfraubahn.

The train into the mountain leaves from Kleine Scheidegg, which can be reached by trains from Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen. The train enters the tunnel running eastward through the Eiger shortly after leaving Kleine Scheidegg.It runs close behind the Eiger's north face.

Must relay on own transport in these parts of Scotland. Ullapool. On the east shore of Loch Broom, Ullapool was founded in 1788 as a herring port by the British Fisheries Society.

Partnachklamm, Garmicsh, Bavarian Alps, Germany(August).

One of Germany’s natural wonders lies just around the corner from the twin towns of Garmisch-Partenkirchen in the Bavarian Alps.


The Partnachklamm is a spectacular 700m gorge that frames a surging white-water river.
You can walk the length of the gorge along a pathway cut into the limestone rock just a few meters above the river. 

Length of the gorge: 699m (2293ft). Average height of the gorge: 80m (262ft).

Kaza, Spiti Valley, Himachal Pradesh, India

Kaza, Spiti Valley, Himachal Pradesh, India(July).

This is a remote town Spiti Valley valley in the Lahaul and Spiti district of the state of Himachal Pradesh in the Western Himalayas of India 

Kaza is a high altitude desert having close similarities to the neighbouring Tibet and Ladakh regions in terms of terrain, climate and the Buddhist culture. Kaza, situated along the Spiti River river at an elevation of 3,800 metres (12,500 ft) above mean sea level.

Pawna Lake - Lonavala, India

An artificial lake formed by the Pawna Dam built across the Pawna River nearby Lonavala. The lake attracts many tourists due to its imposing natural ambiance and cool climate.

Beachy Head, Chalk Headland, United Kngdom(May).

Beachy Head is a chalk headland in the United Kingdom, close to the town of Eastbourne in the county of East Sussex, immediately east of the Seven Sisters. The cliff there is the highest chalk sea cliff in Britain, rising to 162 m (530 ft) above sea level. The peak allows views of the south east coast from Dungeness to the east, to Selsey Bill in the west. Its height has also made it one of the most notorious suicide spots in the world.

St. Gotthard Pass (2106 m) is between Airolo in the canton of Ticino, and Göschenen in the canton of Uri, connecting the northern German-speaking part of Switzerland with the Italian-speaking part, along the route onwards to Milan.

The Berlin wall was the "largest canvas in the world."

The Berlin Wall was constructed in 1961 to separate Germany and Berlin during the Cold War. The wall was on the "death strip". All the differences between the countries made it a perfect place for people to express their opinions, especially on their preferences and dislikes.

Snowdonia, Wales

The English name for the area derives from Snowdon, which is the highest mountain in Wales at 3,560 ft. Its a 2 - 3 hours walk/hike to the summit from the village below. Good views of the Irish mountains from  the top. 

The movie The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill But Came Down a Mountain is based on Mt Snowdon.

St Wolfgang, Salzkammergut, Austria (September).

A beautiful quite small town and winter ski destination . The clear blue lake is the source of drinking water. You will find some of the most scenic places in the Austrian Alps along this axis.  Number of B&B and local guest houses available to stay.

St. Wolfgang can be reached via a branch of the B 158 Wolfgangsee Straße federal highway (Bundesstraße), running from the city of Salzburg to Bad Ischl.

The town is located in central Austria. It is on the northern shore of the Wolfgangsee lake (close to the towns of Strobl and St. Gilgen, both in the State of Salzburg) at the foot of the Schafberg mountain.

A small village in Lochaber area of the Highlands of Scotland. It is located at the northern end of Loch Shiel, at the foot of Glenfinnan. This place came to prominence in the Harry Potter films, the first being Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

A must visit place if your are traveling Fort William northwards(North West) in Scotland.

Spa lies in the country's Walloon Region and Province of Liège. It is situated in a valley in the Ardennes mountain chain. it is the town of Spa which has become eponymous with any place having a natural water source that is believed to possess special health-giving properties, as a spa.

Northern Ireland - Portrush, Portstewart (Antrim)

These two towns are well known for three sandy beaches, the West Strand, East Strand and White Rocks, as well as the Royal Portrush Golf Club, the only golf club outside of mainland Great Britain which has hosted the Open Championship
About an hour's drive from Belfast Airport. Good public transport and direct train connections.
Great weekend destination with easily available overnight accommodation in Hotels and B&B.
